From DFM to delivery

GeekSocial develops and supplies aluminum keyboard cases, metal keycaps, branded tools and complete keyboards. We work with studios, group-buy organisers and established brands, from custom component development to keyboard OEM/ODM.

Five-axis CNC machining, specialist finishing and keyboard production resources are brought together around the product specification. One project contact coordinates DFM feedback, prototype revisions, finish samples, inspection requirements and delivery.

Our aluminum-case range supports most mainstream keyboard brands and models across multiple layout and mounting families. Representative platforms include Wooting, Madlions, AULA, Gateron, MCHOSE, DrunkDeer and ATK.

The project starts with the actual assembly: its PCB revision, plate, mounting scheme, material and intended finish. Those references define the work from the first prototype through production.

Two production paths

Custom metal development and keyboard OEM/ODM use different processes, with one project specification connecting the work.

Machined enclosure geometry and internal mounting features.

Custom metal development

Five-axis CNC cases, interchangeable brass or copper weights, gasket support features and branded metal tools. Critical machined features can target ±0.01–0.02 mm, tied to the specified datums, material, geometry and inspection requirements.

Anodizing with e-coat, micro-arc oxidation, mirror or colored PVD, and selected blasting textures. Mounting fit, finish allowance and prototype acoustics are reviewed before production release.

Assembly resources supporting keyboard production programmes.

Keyboard OEM/ODM

Injection moulding, PCB assembly, switch installation and final assembly support branded keyboard ranges. The build is defined by its layout, PCB and switch platform, connection modes, firmware configuration and accessories.

For HE designs, supported switch characteristics and firmware compatibility are reviewed alongside mechanical fit. Product marking, protective packaging, functional samples and the relevant model documentation complete the programme.

Prototype to production

Carry the approved design, finish and assembly references into the production batch.

DFM and interfaces: Review machining access, thin sections, mounting datums and finish-sensitive fits before cutting a prototype.
Prototype and finish masters: Assemble the specified PCB, plate and mounting stack. Approve the fit and retain physical references for color, texture and gloss.
Production release: Agree the drawing revision, bill of materials and approved samples. Record design, component and finish changes before the next batch.
Inspection and delivery: Set dimensional, cosmetic and functional acceptance points for the ordered configuration. Match protective packing, labels and shipping documents to the shipment.
